For your 2021 Subaru Forester I recommend the Tekonsa T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118467 due to it being a plug and play system that uses power directly from your vehicle's battery to protect your factory wiring harness. The Tekonsha T-One # 118467 is a confirmed fit on a 2009 - 2021 Subaru Forester. I included a video of the Tekonsha T-One # 118467 being installed on a 2020 Subaru Forester for you to take a look at.
To finish off the towing setup for your Forester you will need a few more items. I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 which includes two ball mounts for 3/4inch rise/2 inch drop, or 2 3/4 inch rise/4 inch drop, two hitch balls, two hitch pins and clips, and a carrying case.
