5th Wheel Hitch Recommendation for a 2018 Ford F-250 with OEM Prep

The B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # BWRVK3370 is what I recommend for a 2018 Ford F-250 (With OEM Prep). This is the best fifth wheel hitch option on the market and it installs directly into the pucks without any adapters. That said, it is not light per say. However, with a short bed truck you really don't have the option for a lightweight fifth wheel hitch as it needs to have the slider mechanism which are heavy.

The hitch head on the B&W Companion however can be removed so you can get the hitch in an out of the truck bed easier. Personally, unless you were removing the hitch weekly I would much rather have a more durable and secure fifth wheel hitch than a lightweight one which again isn't even really an option for a short bed truck. I recommend using a tonneau cover is protect the hitch while not in use.
