How To Install a 7-Way Trailer Connector On a 2020 Honda Passport
Question:
Wiring harness 118809 seems to be widely recommended. Its only a 4 pin. If I wanted to tow a small trailer with brakes, the 4 pin wont have the brake pin. Is there a 5 or more pin wiring harness that will plug nfoot play with a 2020 Passport? Not concerned about the additional pins/functions, just brakes. If there isnt a plug nfoot play wiring harness with the added brake pin, what are my options to wire in this functionality. Thank You

In order to tow a trailer with brakes using a 2020 Honda Passport you'll need a 7-way trailer connector as that is what will be installed on trailer's with brakes. In order to obtain this you'll need to start with a 4-way and adapt to a 7-way since there are no direct-plug-in-play 7-ways for this vehicle. In order to hook up the 7-way properly for use with trailer brakes you generally need to do some splicing into the vehicle but I have an option that would not require this so that is my strong recommendation. I have attached said parts below needed to complete this setup.
