Diameter of Mounting Holes of Easy Grip Assist Handle # PLR6612-A

Question:

Just purchased the easy grip 12inch handle made of AL to install at entry door on our 4Star horse trailer. Exactly what I wanted but not sure about the hardware needed for installation. Have decided to mount the handle on the frame around the door instead of on the side because that area is ribbed and may not be as strong/solid as the frame. What is your recommendation as far as size of screws needed and what type of thread, fine or coarse? Can figure out diameter of the screw needed but want to know your recommendation/answer to these questions to make sure the handle holds firmly and doesnt pull out with use. Please make sure you answer BOTH questions-Length? Type of thread on the screw for AL -Fine or Coarse thread?

Helpful Expert Reply:

The diameter of the mounting holes of the handle # PLR6612-A are 3/8 of an inch. Going with fine threaded bolts and nuts to fit this size would be the way to go. I can't give you a length recommendation as that depends on how thick the area you are trying to install the handle to is. So you'd have to measure first.
