Can the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2019 Toyota Camry Be Installed At Home
Question:
I am looking to add a tow hitch to my 2019 Camry XSE to attach a bike mount to transport mountain bikes to trails. Would this be something I can install myself, or does it need to be done by a professional? On scale of tools needed and if car needs to be raised to gain access?

Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11576 which is a fit for a 2019 Toyota Camry can be installed by someone at home with little tools or mechanical knowledge. In fact, these hitches are actually based around this premises that someone at home with very little tools or mechanical knowledge will be installing them so the design needs to be as simple as possible.
The vehicle does not need to be lifted for installation though if you had a few floor jacks for the rear it might give you more room to work. I have attached a list of the tools needed in a photo below. That said, there are two on there which are rather uncommon and I feel you could substitute them out. The die grinder which is used to enlarge the frame holes can be swapped out for a drill and step-up drill bit and the dremel tool which is used to trim the heat shield and fascia can be swapped out for a pair of tin snips. I would actually use these tools instead if I were doing the install.
