Will the Yakima SkyRise HD Tent Work On a 2016 Toyota Sienna

Question:

The roof rack is only good to 150 lbs for stock. Since this is not stated whether this is dynamic or static weight? Whats your thoughts on placing a Skyrise on top of sienna and sleeping in it . Roof top will sit on the thule cross bars which has capacity of 165 lb. However weakest link is the 150 parallel bars.

The Yakima SkyRise HD Tent part # Y07437 will work on a 2016 Toyota Sienna. It only requires that the roof rack be rated for 165 lbs. The tent does weigh about 120 lbs but the ladder it comes with is used to bear some of the weight for the tent and contents inside which is why it can exceed the roof rack weight capacity when using the tent.

I recommend the Yakima CoreBar Crossbar System part # Y00421 part # Y33TR the weakest components is rated for 165 lbs so it will fall within range.

Please note, if your current system (any part) falls below the 165 lb weight capacity required rating it will not work and will need to be substituted.
