Using Custom Pin to Use B&W Companion with a Curt Gooseneck Hitch

Question:

I recently purchased a 2012 F-250 with a Curtis gooseneck double pin in the truck , I already have a BandW companion , I had a machine shop make a round pin that bolts to my Companion, they even made the center pin to draw the hitch tight to the pins, I believe what I had made is stronger than the square BandW pin , any feedback from anyone. Thank you

The B&W Companion Fifth Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3500-5W is meant to be used with turnoverball gooseneck hitches such as # BWGNRK1111. We cannot recommend making modifications to or using custom parts with the B&W Companion for use with a Curt gooseneck hitch. Doing so will void the warranties on your Curt gooseneck, your B&W fifth wheel, and your truck itself. While it is possible that your setup is okay and even stronger than the intended setup, there is no way for us to know as it hasn't been tested and rated for that application. So it is up to you if you want to continue using your custom pin, but we cannot recommend doing so as there is no way for us to verify that it is safe.
