Does The Converter Effect The Heating Pad When Plugged Into Shore Power

Question:

If I should wire this pad directly to our RV battery will there be any difficulties when plugged into shore power and our built-in converter/charger turns on? By wiring directly to our battery, when we plug in our converter/charger will be both powering the heater pad, if necessary, and float charging our battery. Do you see this as a problem or will everything operate as advertised?

It is recommended to wire the ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank or Step Heater Pad w/ Thermostat - 25" Long x 7-1/4" Wide Item # 277-000163 through a switch so you can control the on and off. I recommend the Universal-Design Rocker Switch - SPST - On-Off - 12 Volt - 20 Amp - 4-Blade - Red Pilot Light Item # PK34310. If you wire directly to the battery the heater would be on all the time whether your converter is on or not. Adding the switch, even though it is wired directly to the battery, allows you to disconnect the power coming from the battery to the heating pad.
