Will the Reese Weight Distribution System RE44FR Allow the Tailgate To Open With Trailer Attached

Can you tell me the distance from the hitch pin to the trailer ball, having to see if I can open my tailgate when trailer is attached.

The Reese Weight Distribution Systems like part # RE44FR all come with a standard length shank which won't allow the tailgate to be opened with the trailer attached. That said, we do offer longer shanks which allow for this but they must be purchased separately, the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank part # EQ90-02-4600 is the most popular option.

That said, the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole will be 12-7/8".
