Will a Reese Goose Box Improve Clearance From Truck Cab on 2020 Ford F-350 Short Bed

I have a solution for you, but the long story short is that adding a Reese Goose Box # RP85FR to your Grand Design 310GK will not provide any additional clearance for short bed trucks above what the factory pin box offers. With the Goose Box installed, you will likely still have trouble making tight turns with your short bed F-350, but there is a formula you can use to determine what your clearance would actually be.

To find out if your truck will have enough clearance to make tight turns, you will simply plug in a few numbers to this formula:

(A + B) - C = Clearance
A = Distance from the gooseneck ball to the truck cab
B = Offset used (there is not an offset ball available for the 2020 Ford OEM prep package unfortunately)
C = Width of the nose of the trailer divided by 2.

If your trailer is 102" wide, you'll need 51" from the center of the ball to the cab in order to keep the nose of the trailer away from the truck cab-which is very unlikely when using a Goose Box # RP94720.

Your best solution is going to be using a sliding hitch like the Demco Hijacker Autoslide # DM8550038, which provides 14" of travel (the most of any hitch that fits in the OEM pucks) and comes with a premium single hook jaw that provides excellent security and reduces rattle. The hitch head pivots front to back and side to side, to help ease hookup and unhooking, while also limiting chucking. I also really like that this is an automatic slider, so you won't have to get out of the truck and engage the slider each time you need to make a tight turn.
