The Hopkins Backup Sensor System with Audible Alert, Part # HM60100VA, installs with basic tools, including a scissor or wire stripper (to remove insulation from wires), a screwdriver and electrical tape. In some cases a drill with 11/32 inch drill bit may be needed.
Most customers who purchased this product comment on the ease of installation; you can review their comments on this product page on our website. Installation consists of routing a coaxial cable, splicing two wires and mounting and adjusting the sensor.
The frequency of the three warning beeps will vary depending on how your license plate is angled. The instructions include a chart that details the distance measurements for each audible warning zone as well as a toll-free technical support phone number at Hopkins. I have included a photo of the chart that shows how to adjust the sensor based on its height off the ground and angle.
In a separate email I will forward the HM60100VA installation and operation instructions in the form of a PDF file.
