How To Choose Correct Roller Bunks for Boat Trailer with Bottom and Side Bunk Boards

Question:

I have a 18.5foot G3 aluminum boat that is about 1200 lbs. I am wanting to remove some rotting bunk boards and replace with these rollers. There are 4 bottom bunk boards - 2 inner 10 foot boards and 2 outer 5 foot boards that the boat actually sits on. Can you help me determine how many sets of rollers to use, and where to place them? Will one set of rollers where the outer 5foot boards be sufficient?

In regards to the Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunks like part # DL21741, I recommend using these to replace the bottom bunk boards which you can see in the attached photo. That said, although there isn't an exact formula on what length roller needed we always recommend that you match their length to the bunk boards you will be replacing it with so two five foot sections per side in your case. The attached photo is likely very similar to your setup so this is what I recommend mirroring.
