The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56406 for your 2020 Jeep Cherokee will supply power for trailer lights but is not able to supply power for electric trailer brakes by itself. You need to add a 7-way connector that will work with electric trailer brakes.

I recommend adding the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56406 for a plug and play installation on your vehicle, and then adding the etrailer Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7 that gives your vehicle both a 7-way connector and a 4-way connector.
