The etrailer Ball Mount Kit part # EBMK2416 is correct for a Class IV receiver with a 2x2 receiver opening like what is on your 2017 Ram 1500. Before purchasing I recommend measuring for the correct drop/rise distance needed for the trailer you plan on towing.
I have added a guide to help you measure the drop/rise correctly. Make sure to also check the ball diameter of the trailer, it is usually located on top of the coupler. I have also attached a link to help you find the correct ball size.
Once you have both the drop/rise amount, and correct ball size you need to find a ball mount kit that matches. I attached a link to all of our 2x2 ball mounts as well.
