2006 NuWa Discover America Landing Gear Replacement Motor
Question:
My Fifth wheel is raising and lowering very slowly. Not sure if this is a gearbox or motor problem? Current motor is an Atwood Mobile MPD71113 which I am seeing has been discontinued. Please provide replacement part numbers or compatible landing gear replacement.

If it has recently slowed down there may be a weak battery or wiring issue that you need to look at. After confirming your battery has a good charge. Check the connections either the connectors are corroded and not making good contact or the wiring has been compromised. If the wiring is in good shape and the connections look good then the motor may very well be going bad. The gear box will slip and clang and even produce a ratcheting sound but really doesn't effect speed. It just goes or fails....
A great replacement that does improve speed slightly is the Lippert Components High Speed 5th Wheel RV Landing Gear Motor part # LC141893. It is a very common replacement and I have recommended it several times to replace the old Atwood motors.
