Brake Controller Installlation- 2013 Toyota Tacoma
Question:
Just bought a 13 Tacoma Automatic. Cant tell from info if I have to route a positive wire and circuit breakers. Or, does the factory trailer package include all that wiring back to the 7 pin connector? e-trailer video that I have located does not seem to address that. Is there a video on what I should be ordering and doing?

It is not difficult to determine if your Tacoma has the tow package wiring in place.
If your Tacoma has the OEM 7-way trailer connector installed, the vehicle is indeed prewired for a brake controller.
The # 3040-P wiring harness would plug into the connector located near the emergency brake pedal as shown in the photo I edited for you. Make sure the white ground wire with the ring terminal is grounded to bare metal under the dash.
If you do NOT have the OEM 7-way, the plug for the controller will not be present, and the controller will need to be hardwired using the # ETBC7 install kit and the Trailer Wiring Harness, part # 118496. The Install Kit contains everything necessary to install a brake controller in your Tacoma.
If you have not already chosen a brake controller, I can highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. The P2 is easy to set up, easy to use, and is one of our best selling controllers.
I have linked you to some FAQ articles and install videos that you might find helpful. These resources will help guide you through the installation.
