Troubleshooting Heavy Duty Magnetic Tow Lights Turn Signals

Question:

Why does the turn signal flash both sides for this kit. I tested it by connecting it to two vehicles and it does not flash right or left but a real four way flasher.

The Heavy Duty Magnetic Tow Lights - 20' Wiring Harness with 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # TL21RK should not have turn signals flash on both sides. It sounds like there is a short inside the unit since you have tried it on multiple vehicles. You can see in the attached video that the turn signals should operate independently. It sounds like there is a short circuit connecting the two sides.
