Can The Friction Pads On the Reese SC Weight Distribution System Be Swapped Out For a New Style

Question:

I have an older version weight distribution set, Reese SC Weight Distribution System w Sway Control - Trunnion - 10,000 lbs GTW, 800 lbs TW, ITEM # RP66153 that I purchased through etrailer.com. Been very pleased with this purchased. I am in need to replace the pads, which I already have a set that Ive been carrying around for backup purposes. Although Im having major difficulty getting the now stripped screws out to replace the pads, Ive wondered whether or not there is an alternative mount for the A frame that is compatible with the current trunions, in place of the 58350 hanger. The ends of the trunions do have holes. Not sure if Im stuck with having to use the pads and hanger or if I could get something else compatible. Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can switch from the friction style pads on the Reese SC Weight Distribution System to the chain hanger style using the Chain Hangers for Reese Weight Distribution Systems part # RP58306 and Reese Replacement Weight Distribution Chain Kit part # 3216. This would be the only option I have to change styles.
