5th Wheel Hitch for 2020 Ram 2500 Short Bed With Factory Puck System For Turning Point Pin Box

Question:

Looking for a fifth wheel hitch for ram 2500 to work with turning point pin box on 32 ft rv. Not sure if we want to use the pin box pivot feature or get a sliding hitch for stability reasons. Also, for a pin box pivot is a puck system better than something like BandW Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider with one hole through to the frame? Soon to be first time rv owners, want purchase the correct stuff the first time.

Okay, we can definitely get you the right hitch the first time, but since you are going to be using the Turning Point pin box, you will want to use a fixed 5th wheel hitch as opposed to a sliding hitch. A sliding hitch isn't going to be needed with a rotating pin box like the Turning Point, and they are both heavier and costlier than fixed hitches so you'd be spending more money for a sliding feature you won't be using.

The Companion you mentioned won't work either because it won't fit the puck system in your truck. The 5th wheel hitch that I recommend for you that does fit the factory 5th wheel pucks in your 2020 Ram 2500 is the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Ram Towing Prep Package # RP37FR.
