Best 1-1/4" Hitch for 2017 Ford Edge
Question:
I am confused which 1 1/4inch hitch for my 2017 Ford Edge. Can you help? I like concealed type and ample ground clearance for backroad driving.

We only have one 1-1/4" hitch for the Ford Edge and that is the Curt Class II Trailer Hitch # C12140. It has a great ground clearance of 13". It is not a hidden hitch, and I attached a video of this hitch install if you want to see exactly how it looks on a vehicle.
The selection is limited for 1-1/4" hitches for this vehicle because the 2017 Ford Edge is capable of carrying/towing loads heavier than Class 2 hitches can. It's often better to have the option of carrying heavy loads and not need it which is why many users get a 2" Class hitch like # 75234 and pair it with a hitch reducer for when they need to attach 1-1/4" accessories. I like the hitch reducer # HT02 since it doesn't reduce tongue weight capacity. Using a 2" hitch also allows more accessory options like different bike rack and carriers of different sizes and weight capacities. You can use 2" AND 1-1/4 accessories (with an adapter) on a 2" hitch, but the 1-1/4" only hitch selection is more limited.
But if you are only planning on using 1-1/4" accessories, then the Curt # C12140 is a great trailer hitch with a towing weight of 3,500 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs.
