Does Battery of 2017 Ford Edge Get Disconnected When Flat Towed

Question:

I have a 2017 V-6 Ford Edge that I want to tow behind my motor home. The Ford manual says to disconnect the battery. In your reply to Loren B about this topic you recommend kit # RM 766. You say: This will allow you to disconnect the battery while still maintaining charge for accessories. Then you also recommend # RM-156-25 so I assume that you can keep your battery charged. Thats what I want - to be able to keep the accessories on so I dont lose my Sync 3 settings like radio stations, Apps, phone pairing, as well as seat, mirror and steering wheel settings. Conceptually, I am having difficulty understanding how this would work. Battery disconnected, but accessories still on. Hmmm. Youre clarification regarding this issue would be helpful. Thank you in advance for your assistance with this. PS. Your etrailer videos are extremely helpful!!!

There isn't a way around having to have your vehicle unplugged when flat towing it to the extent that it would reset your radio settings etc. The charge line kits like the # RM-766 allow you to put a maintenance charge on the vehicle's battery while the vehicle is disconnected but there isn't a way to accomplish both.
