What Happens When You Use a Weight Distribution System that is Rated Too High
Question:
Can an excess capacity too stiff distribution hitch damage an RV trailer given that the hitch weight distribution adjustments themselves are within specification? Damage - bend the frame, pop rivets, split seams, cause windows to leak, cause body bulges, separate joints, etc.

An over-rated but still properly setup weight distribution system would not normally cause the damage you mentioned. What is known to happen is a very harsh ride quality but not the damage you mentioned.
