Do I Need to Run a New Wire to Battery When Installing a New 4 Way Between my Existing 7 Way Plug
Question:
I am taking out Curt C56011 wiring harness, changing to the Tekonsha T-One 118563. I currently have a wire from battery to 7-Blade with 40 amp circuit breaker was to power Curt Echo - now changing to Tekonsha Prodigy 2 and wire from battery for brake controller with 20 amp breaker wire and breakers that came with the ETBC7 wiring kit. My question is can I splice in to either of those wires Ive already run to the battery for power to the T-One Wiring harness or do I need to run a third to the battery? Thanks!

Expert Reply:
When installing a 4 way like the Tekonsha # 118563 you will need to run an additional wire to the battery to supply the powered converter has it's own supply. This will also help avoid overloading that circuit and prevent any potential malfunctions from disabling the wiring harness.
