Does Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch for 2013 Ford Escape S Model, Part # 75758, Fit with Dual Exhaust
Question:
Some of the 2013 Ford Escape hitches say except S models. and this one looks like it is for the S model. Does this hitch work with the S model where the dual exhaust have an elbow pointing downward?

Expert Reply:
This trailer hitch is compatible with the 2013 Escape S model with factory dual exhaust. If you have an aftermarket exhaust installed, or if you have aftermarket or dealer installed exhaust tips that point downward, there could be a compatibility issue.
Please note that if your vehicle has the Hands-Free Lift Gate option, addition of virtually any hitch will reduce the effective operating area for the lift gate sensors. With this hitch installed the operating area for the lift gate sensors will be limited to an area of approximately 4 - 5 inches to the insides of each factory exhaust tip. The Hands-Free function will still work, but with a reduced effective operating area for the sensors. If your Escape does not have this option, then you can disregard this concern.
Please note that ball mount, hitch ball, pin and clip, and wiring harness for this hitch are sold separately. Part # 989900 includes two different ball mounts, each providing varying rise or drop; both 1-7/8 inch and 2-inch diameter trailer hitch balls; and the pin and clip - all in a convenient carry bag. The recommended wiring harness, part # 118566, installs without cutting, splicing or taping.
