Before towing the Fiat, you will want to consult the owners manual for the proper procedure for recreational towing of the vehicle. Many of the questions about the base plates # 522013-1 can be answered by viewing the instructions which I have linked for you to view. The kit includes the hardware needed for installation, quick links and 8 inch safety cables, the driver and passenger side arms, the main receiver, and the wire plug mounting plate. There is some fascia trimming required for installation which is covered in the instructions. There are also some pictures that show the finished installation. The center to center tab with is 28-1/2 inches apart.

The EZ2 base plates are compatible with all Roadmaster tow bars. The most popular option is the Falcon 2, # RM-520. I have included links to the instructions and a video review for you.

In addition to the base plates and tow bar you will also need safety cables, # RM-643. The coiled design of these cables helps keep the cables off of the ground.

Next you will need a lighting solution. There are a few different kits available, see link. If you will not be towing the vehicle often then I recommend a magnetic kit like # RM-2120. If you will be towing it frequently then I recommend going with a bulb and socket kit like # RM-155.

And last, most states now require a supplemental braking system on the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Even Brake, # RM-9400 which is a proportional system that applies the vehicles brakes in proportion to how much the towing vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles. I have also included a helpful link to our series of FAQ articles on flat towing for you.
