The shank on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider Trike Carrier, part # HR1000Z-R-TRKADP, that inserts into your hitch receiver, will have a 5 inch rise above the hitch opening. The wheel mounts, that the tires sit in, do angle up so the tires will not sit below the top of the shank. I am including a picture that will show that shank with the 5 inch rise.

If you measure about 5 inches above the the hitch receiver opening on your vehicle that will give you an idea of the clearance you will have from the road to the tires on the Delta trike.
