Replacing a Damaged 4-Way Trailer Connector on a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
after a snow storm and some underbody draging my 4 prong trailer wiring connection and plug disapeared. cant find the origin of electric harness to rewire a replacement plug. have inspected remains of trailer wiring harnesses and all seem to be intact but cant find the location to rewire the 4 prong trailer harness

You can use the wiring harness that you referenced, # 18252, and wire it in directly to the tail lights to replace the 4-Way. The factory harness most likely leads up above the spare tire or along the driver side frame rail. If your truck did come with a factory trailer connector, you may be able to install # 118384 in its place which just plugs in to the factory harness if the truck came with a 7-Way originally. I have included a couple of video links that should help.
