How to Get Replacement Front Arm for Yakima HoldUp 2-Bike Rack

Question:

Hi, the arm on my Yakima Holdup 2 got bent and I’m looking to replace it. It was purchased new last year. Wanted to double check that this part 8880833 does fit. Does it also support the lock mechanism that comes standard with the factory arm? Do I need any special tools in order to replace? Thanks!

Expert Reply:

We do have the correct part for you, but the 8880833 is only a fit for the Yakima HoldUp EVO Bike Rack , as opposed to the standard Yakima HoldUp bike rack.

Based on your photo, you do not have the EVO, you have the standard HoldUp. The arms are not available by themselves for the HoldUp, for a bent arm you'll need to replace the wheel assembly, and I have added a photo showing the difference between where on the rack the assemblies fit:

- Replacement Rear Wheel Assembly for Yakima HoldUp Bike Carriers # 8890281

- Replacement Front Wheel Assembly for Yakima HoldUp Bike Carriers # 8890280

Based on your photo it looks like you need the Rear Wheel Assembly.
