Does Installing New RV Roof Require New Roof Vent as Well

Question:

am replacing my 2009 RV roof and would like to know if replacing the roof vents are necessary? My RV is stationary at a trailer camp.

Expert Reply:

Most likely the garnish or mounting bracket of the roof vent has a sealant on it that would be somewhat difficult to remove and then reinstall on the new roof. So what you could do is use a new garnish like the part # VA0445-35 with a new install kit part # 344270KITW. Or if the vent has seen better days you could replace it with a new one like with # V2092SP-28.
