How To Install A Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform To A 2020 Subaru Platform

Question:

I have a 2020 Subaru Forester with factory crossbars. I would like to purchase the Pioneer Platform rack which is supposed to be compatible with the OEM aero bars. The only option Im seeing is for one with legsinch which I do not need. What Pioneer platform rack should I order?

We have just what you need to mount the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform to your 2020 Subaru Forester. For clarity "OEM raised roof rails" are the rails that run from back to front along the top outside edge of the vehicle. "Raised" roof rails means the rails are raised up from the roof so much that you could put your hand between roof and the rail. "Crossbars" on the other hand are generally attached to roof rails and run across the vehicle from side to side.

I called my contact at Rhino-Rack to get the latest information about your options. The Pioneer Platform # RMCB02 can attach to a vehicle in one of three ways. First it can mount to crossbars, but that is not the best looking or lowest profile solution. Second is Rhino-Rack's "Back Bone" system that has a metal bracket that replaces the OEM raised roof rails - but that system has not yet been developed for the 2020 Forester. Third is using the Rhino-Rack # RRSX100 mounting feet. These feet attach the OEM roof rail on one side and to the platform on the other side without any need for crossbars. This is your best option.

I have attached a link to the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform and to the mounting feet.

The Pioneer Platform Rack will give you very diverse ways to carry gear and has multiple accessories to help you do so, such as the Rhino-Rack Ratchet Strap Kit for Pioneer Platform Rack # RR43175, Rhino-Rack Ski and Fishing Rod Carrier for Pioneer Platform Rack # RR572-43159 or even the Rhino-Rack Gas Can Holder for Pioneer Platform Rack # RJCH-HOR.
