2001 Nissan Xterra Transmission Cooler

Question:

Which transmission cooler would be the best fit for a 2001 V6 Nissan Xterra? 3.3L engine. The transmission oil light came on in the hot desert and just want to be proactive for the days to come. We are pulling a small trailer and want to add one. Thanks, Pat

Unless you live someplace where the winters are super harsh, you really can't cool a transmission too much. We typically recommend getting the largest cooler space allows. The most efficient place to install a cooler is directly behind the grille, in front of the radiator.

If you have an available area of 11 x 8-3/4 inches, the # D13503 from Derale you'd looked at would be my recommendation. If you click the provided link, you can check out an install video on a later-model Xterra.
