Can Curt Trailer Hitch # 13333 be Welded and Bolt On a 2005 Dodge Ram

Can you hook it up to the truck and then weld it to the frame to make it stronger, or will it not make it stronger?

If you were to weld Curt trailer hitch # 13333 and bolt in on it would not make it any stronger or allow the hitch or truck to tow more weight. Heating the metal could actually have some adverse effects such as fatiguing the metal and make the capacity lower than just bolting it on. Deviating from the instructions would also void the hitch warranty. I have included a link to the installation instructions and a link to a video showing a typical installation for you to view.
To complete your towing set up I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # EBMK4. It comes with a ball mount, interchangeable ball set, hitch pin with clip, and a carrying bag. If you need to add trailer wiring use # 119178KIT. I have linked instructions for the wiring as well.
