Installation of Prodigy RF Brake Controller # TK94FR on 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser

Question:

Dear eTrailer Vehicle: 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser I am a little confused about the wiring for requirements for the Prodigy RF. I purchased the ETBC7 but since the Prodigy RF Power module is mounted to the trailer not in the cab I assume it is not necessary to connect white brake wire from the duplexinch to the controller. Further I assume that the RF Controller will be powered through its connection through its plug connection to the ETBC7.. If that is correct then only connections for the ETBC7 will be the four plug addaptor, the black duplex wire to battery and the white ground assuming no back up lights. Can you confirm if any or all of my assumptions are correct.

To power the Prodigy RF Brake Controller, part # TK94FR, it is only necessary to connect the 12 volt power wire (black) and ground wire (white) on your 4-Way to 7-Way Adapter, part # 37185, in the # ETBC7 kit, on your 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser. The remaining wires can be tied off.

You also have the option to connect the auxiliary wire (purple) if you need to power backup lights or another accessory on your trailer.

To prepare the adapter to hook up the brake controller, you will attach the ground wire to a clean metal area on the vehicle frame, and the 12 volt power wire will be run into the engine compartment and connected to the positive battery terminal on your FJ Cruiser. The 40 amp circuit breaker, included in the # ETBC7 kit, will be installed in-line on the 12 volt power wire.

In standard brake controller and 7-Way connector installations, the blue electric brake wire is run between the 7-Way at the rear of the vehicle and the blue wire coming off the brake controller itself. Since the Prodigy RF is powered at the rear of the vehicle, this connection is not required.

I am including links to the installation instructions for the Prodigy RF brake controller, as well as some additional information on wiring for towing in general, if needed.
