New Brakes and Hubs for Old Holiday Rambler Trailer With 7,000 lb Axles

Question:

Hello, I am restoring a Holiday Rambler with outdated rims. I am wanting to replace the hubs and brake assemblies to accommodate modern rims 5 on 4.5 hopefully. The current brake assembly is 5 bolt system in a hexagon pattern. The rear seal is 57mm The rear spindle is 44.4mm The front spindle is 31.5mm The current brake assembly is 12. I am good with either a 10inch or 12, whichever way I can get the bolt pattern. Do you have a brake and hub assembly that will accommodate these? Thank you.

There are a couple things to consider. The bolt pattern you are seeking is for a much smaller axle so there are not hubs compatible with the spindles you have and that bolt pattern. The fit we have for the measurements you gave are only the 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern like # 8-219-18UC3. This will be compatible with 12 inch brake assemblies like # AKEBRK-7-SA which are compatible with your brake flange.

It looks like you have a 7,000 lb axle and the 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern will max out at 4,400 lb axles but more common are the 3,500 lb axles. If you have room for two axles, we can get that bolt pattern but that will require replacing your hangers, springs, and axle placement. If you want to consider replacing axles, let me know the hub face to hub face dimension and the spring center to spring center measurement.
