Goose Box Turning Limits with a 2020 Ram 3500 Short Bed SWD

Question:

I have been told that the Reese Goose Box in my Ram 3500 short bed will work. Thewill workinch is a bit of a relative term. The claim is that I will be able to get into the mid to high 80 degree of turn range with my Grand Designs Soilitude S Class 2930 RL replacing a Lippert 1621 due to cap design. Is this sound advice?

If you have the 6-1/2 foot bed, the Goose Box will not give you any more or less turning clearance than the Lippert 1621 pin box. The only way to increase your turning angle is to use a an offset adapter hitch like # DM8550045 and keep your 1621 pin box which offsets the gooseneck hitch by 3 inches. The benefit of using the Goose Box # RP85FR is you get the air ride upgrade.

There are too many variables for us to give a specific degree of turning with any adapter as that changes with each trailer, truck, pin box, and hitch used. You will not be able to make 90 degree turns because the trailer will limit you. Your turning will be more limited than if you used a sliding hitch or if you used a standard hitch with a Sidewinder pin box like # RP34FR. The gooseneck connection will limit your turning clearances more than these other options.
