Best High Capacity Roof Rack for Tent On 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500  

Question:

I am looking for the appropriate roof rack for my 2018 Chevrolet Silverado HIgh Country 3500 hd dually crew cab that will hold a Roofnest Falcon roof top tent that weighs 160 lbs. I was looking at the Yakima hd, but never having owned or purchased a roof rack, I want to be sure. I would rather feel like the weight capacity is more than enough,than should be enough.Thanks in advance for your help.

The highest capacity roof rack we offer for a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 is the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbar System which is composed of part # RRVA150B-2, part # RRRLKVA, and part # DK415. This system is rated at 165 lbs. That said, it can hold more weight than this when used with a rooftop tent since these contain ladders which work to help support more weight. The Yakima SkyRise HD Tent for Roof Rack Crossbars part # Y07436 for example only requires the roof rack be rated for 165 lbs in order to hold the max 400 lb capacity.

The Yakima Roof Racks for this vehicle all max out at 100 lbs.
