Will I Need Help Installing the Draw-Tite DT82QR Hitch On My 2020 Rav4 XSE Hybrid

Question:

Help me out here. I order the DrawTite DT82QR from you and you ship it to me. How do I get it installed on my 2020 Rav4 XSE Hybrid? I watched your installation video. Trust me, there is no way I can do that myself. And how do I ensure that it is installed correctly? Also, my Rav4 has backup sensors. If I have a bike hanging on a rack off the back wont it constantly triggers the sensor as if I am backing too close to something? Thanks

It usually a good idea to have an extra set of hands when installing a hitch like the Draw-Tite # DT82QR (and most hitches for that matter), so you'll likely need to find someone to give you a hand. If you're still unable to get it installed, you can try some other things. You can use a ratchet strap to keep the hitch pulled up while you attach the bolts. You could also use a scissor jack or jack stands to help hold the hitch in place while you're securing the bolts; I've seen all of these ways used when you just don't have access to another helper. If all else fails, you'll want to check with some local RV repair shops and have them install the hitch for you.

When it comes to your backup sensors, almost all bike racks are going to set off the backup sensors while the vehicle is in reverse, so you won't be able to rely on this feature while you're carrying your rack. However, once you're in drive, it's not going to set off the sensors. It will require some extra vigilance, but it's not unmanageable.
