Lippert SolidSteps for Doorway Width of 28-1/2 Inches and Entry Height of 28 Inches

Question:

Hi, I have a 2016 work and play 25WB. My inside narrow point is about 28 1/2” and my lowest threshold height is exactly 28”. I’m right between a two and three step. Just worried the two step will leave the first step too high and the three step will leave the first step too low?? Also, I don’t have any gap between the bottom on the door and edge of threshold. How does the door close with the steps out? There doesn’t appear to be any room? Thanks!

For your doorway width of 28-1/2 inches and entry height of 28 inches the steps you want are the triple step, the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps for 26" - 29-7/8" Wide RV Door Frames - Triple # LC791572.

These steps are for a 27" to 36" entry height and the legs are adjustable so the triple step won't be too low, though the double step could possibly not reach the ground if you happen to be on an uneven surface.

The steps won't add almost any height to the bottom of the threshold but if there is absolutely zero clearance under the door and threshold then there a couple of things that may be possible. A lot of thresholds have a lip that can be trimmed off which may give you the clearance, or the bottom of the door can be trimmed down, which is pretty common as well.

I have added links to a couple video reviews for you to check out of the SolidStep Manual Fold-Down Steps for 26" - 29-7/8" Wide RV Door Frames - Triple # LC791572.
