Is There a Tilting Bike Rack That Can Be Used On Both Travel Trailer and Vehicle

Question:

We are looking for a bike rack for two bikes that will fit on our Prolite Cool trailer. We tow the trailer with a 2017 Rav 4 and would like to be able to have clearance to open the back hatch. The jackman we tried did not work....the post was in way of opening the back hatch of the Rav. Would appreciate any input into this... Thanks

It sounds like you are looking for a bike rack that will work on the back of a trailer as well as the back of a vehicle while not towing. If that is the case we do have some great options but what makes a bike rack rated for use on a trailer as not all are is because it generally has a fixed shank which allows it to be stronger. That said, with this fixed shank you will lose the tilting and folding features. The best option we have is the Swagman Trailhead 4-Bike Rack part # S63381 and it allows you to carry more bikes if needed. In regards to opening the back hatch on the vehicle, you will need to remove the bike rack but as stated there are none that will clear this without being removed that are also rated for use on a trailer.
