Can the 96 Inch Wide Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring be Trimmed to Fit a 92 Inch Wide Trailer
Question:
My enclosed trailer is home made and measures 92inch inside. Can the CB250D96SHD be easily cut down to fit this width of trailer?

Expert Reply:
Yes you can cut the shaft on the 96 inch wide ramp spring, # CB250D96SHD, to fit your 92 inch wide trailer. The shaft is made of steel tubing so the proper saw or power saw blade would cut through it. Be sure to get a straight cut and file down the rough spots.
Regarding installation, a professional with experience should install this in your trailer. Torsion springs are under a lot of tension and can be dangerous if you do not have experience with them. A garage door installer would be a good place to inquire about installation.
