Is A Battery Disconnect Needed for a 2015 Jeep Wrangler To Prevent Dead Battery
Question:
Hello. I just bought a 2015 jeep wrangler sport with willys package. We just installed a tow package on our diesel motorhome and they included the air force one braking system. It did not include battery disconnect as they said it shouldnt be needed. I towed it home from the RV facility and the toads battery was dead 45 min ride. They said i needed to have the key in the accessory position in the jeep when towing. I cant find anything in the manual to support the key in the ignition. I cant find out from jeep if we need to do this. Do you know if we need to have the key in the ignition?

There isn't a battery disconnect required for the 2015 Jeep Wrangler. If it was required, it would state this in the owner's manual. In regards to the key position this would be listed in the flat-tow setup procedure for your vehicle which is in the owner's manual. I would not have any additional information outside of this. That said, the battery going dead is an easy fix as all you need to do is install a charge line between the motorhome and toad using the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-156-25.
Please note, if you aren't using a 6 or 7-way then you'll need one to run the charge line so you can also pick up the Roadmaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Kit part # RM-146-7.
