You can install something like the Peterson Backup Alarm for Trucks and Vans - Round - 12V/24V - 102 dB # 786-102 by mounting it to the back of the bumper or the vehicle's frame. You'll need to find the reverse light circuit on your vehicle (or 7 way trailer plug) and tap into that in order to provide the power to the alarm so that it activates when you shift into reverse; from there, the other wire will just need to be grounded and you're good to go.
If you don't have a circuit tester to find the reverse light circuit, you can use the # PTW2993, which is a hook probe tester so you won't need to cut into or disconnect any wires during the process.
