Will Thule Camber 2 Bike Rack Fit On My Tesla Model Y?

Question:

I have the standard Tesla 2inch hitch installed on my model Y. Will the Thule 2 Bike Rack work on it? What about the Thule Helium Pro? In particular will the hatch back clear these racks when they are tilted down? Which do you recommend as the best?

You have the right hitch on your 2020 Tesla Model 3 to fit both the Thule Camber 2 Bike Rack part # TH9058 and the Thule Helium Pro 2 # TH9042PRO. What you need to do to make sure these racks will not make contact with your rear hatch is measure from the hitch pin hole to the very end of your Model 3. If the measurement is less than 7-1/2 inches then you will not have a problem installing the rack with clearance issues.

Both racks have the tilting feature so you will be able to access your rear hatch! If I were to give you my suggestion, I would consider buying a platform rack. Platform racks will show up less in your rear view camera because they have no center mast. I know the Thule T2 Pro XTR # TH83JV will not interfere with your rear hatch. I have seen this rack on your exact car without any issues so you don't have to measure if you didn't want to.

If you do end up going with the hanging style rack, you may need the Thule Adapter Bar # TH982XT for odd frame bikes like women and kid bikes! Of the two hanging style racks, I would go with the Thule Roadway 2 as it will give you the most clearance. In regards to the BEST rack for your vehicle when it comes to clearance, the Thule T2 Pro XTB is my choice.
