Manual Override of Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller # 90885 is Tripping Circuit Breaker
Question:
On the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, installed on 2007 jeep liberty using the ETBC7 installation kit, when i use manual control my interior lights dim and after a second or 2 the controllers 30 amp circuit breaker trips. using the brake peddle all appears normal can adjust gain and boost fully apply brakes no issues. Pretty certain have properly installed and identifeid the stop light wire white with green tracer and used the circuit tester and it lit only when brake pressed. Is the manual supposed to be only used very briefly pushing as hard as you need or should it be able to be held for a couple of seconds?? Thanks

So from what you described, with your lights dimming and the circuit breaker tripping from use with the manual override you have an issue with a short or insufficient ground after your install of the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885.
First check your ground connections, starting by verifying that the white ground wire is attached to the negative battery terminal on your Jeep. Also ensure that your 7-way is properly grounded to bare metal as this can also be the cause of the issue.
It is likely the grounds needing to be improved but you will also want to take a look at the wires themselves; search for any wiring - particularly on the blue brake wire - that is potentially nicked or otherwise damaged as this can cause a short that can trip the breaker. I have also added a link to a help article on troubleshooting brake controller installs I recommend checking out.
