Recommended Hitch and Bike Rack for 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander SE
Question:
Hello I am condsidering purchasing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2inch Item # C13163 for my 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander SE. I would like to attach a bike tow. Could you recommend one which is compatible to this tow hitch. I am reading reviews which states adjustments are needed to the hitch if the incorrect bike tow is used. I would like to have a three-bike rack. Allen Sports 4-Bike Hitch Racks for 2 in. Hitch Also, if there is a problem with the hitch to the vehicle, I can return it, correct?

I can confirm that the Curt # C13163 is a confirmed fit on your 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander SE (all models except the PHEV) and as long as you're using a bike rack that is designed to fit in a 2" hitch there won't be any modifications/adjustments that would need to be done on the hitch. If for some reason there was something wrong with the hitch then, yes, you would be able to return it without issue.
We do not carry the Allen Sports rack you mentioned, and it would fit on this hitch, but you might be better off going with something like the Swagman Trailhead 4 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting # S63380 which is going to be a more durable and functional choice. The Trailhead offers you anti-sway cradles with rubber straps that will provide a more secure connection for the bikes to the rack, which ultimately is going to help reduce stress on the rack. Additionally, the Trailhead tilts away from your vehicle to allow you access to the rear cargo area without having to remove the rack; it's a really great solution at an economical price point that you may want to have a look at if you're planning on using your rack frequently since it's going to be more durable long term and is backed by a lifetime limited warranty.
I've linked some review and installation videos of these parts for you to have a look at, as well.
