Fifth Wheel To Gooseneck Adapter for Leland 7910 Pin Box

Question:

Hello, I am looking for a way to convert my 5th wheel to a gooseneck hitch and really like the functionality of the Reese Goose Box. Using your guide to identify my pin box I have been able to determine that it is a Leland 7910, which does not line up with the Goose Box. Are there any adapters our other ways that I can make these work together?

While you can still use an adapter with a Leland 7910 pin box, there isn't a Reese Goose Box that is compatible so unfortunately that is not an option.

What you will need for an adapter is the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G.

As you can see in the linked video install, this will bolt to your king pin and attach to your gooseneck ball. To use this you need to be sure to measure from the top of the ball in the truck bed to the base of the pin box on the trailer, and that measurements needs to be 12" to 16" for this adapter to work. There is also an option with a 7-1/2" offset if you have a short bed, the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter with Offset # CAB-C5GX1216.

Apart from that you can convert your gooseneck ball to a fifth wheel hitch with the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # DM8550045.

The Recon will install directly on the gooseneck ball and give you a strong and secure 5th wheel hitch that is also easy to remove so you can maintain a clean truck bed. This is the easiest option and the route I recommend, and I've added a link to the instructions and a review for this part as well.
