Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2020 GMC Terrain Denili
Question:
My terrain has an opening in the plastic for a trailer hitch on the bumper, what hitch will fit?

The opening in the rear bumper fascia is for the OEM hitch available from GM. The aftermarket hitches we offer for that vehicle, such as the Curt # C77FR would install so the receiver tube sits directly under the bumper, as shown in the provided photo. As you can see, the hitch crossbar is concealed behind the bumper, with the only visible portion of the hitch being the receiver tube and the safety chain loops.
I've linked to the installation video for the Curt hitch I recommended. I prefer the Curt hitch to the Draw-Tite # 76419 you'd looked at, due to the fact that I believe Curt does a little nicer job on their powder coat finish.
You'll find that an aftermarket hitch like the Curt # C77FR will have the same capacity as the factory hitch, at a considerably lower cost. If you'll be using the hitch for towing, you'll need a few other items to complete your setup. For a wiring harness, use # C94FR. For a ball mount, use # D-28 and # 19260 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for a 2 inch trailer ball. You'll also need a # PC3 hitch pin.
