Can Reese Elite Fixed Fifth Wheel Hitch be Converted to Slider Hitch

Question:

I have a Reese 18K Elite series hitch for my F350 8’ bed truck mounted to the Ford OEM mounting system. I just ordered a new F350 with a 6.75’ bed. Instead of buying a new slider hitch I would like to replace the legs on my existing hitch with a set of slider rails. Is it possible to order just the legs/slider rails again for the Ford mounting system and bolt in my existing head/plate?

I checked with Reese and they do not offer replacement slider legs for their Elite hitches so the best solution will be a new slider hitch that fits your Ford OEM rail kit with part # RP30144.
