What is Towing Capacity of 2020 Ram 2500

Question:

I recently purchased a 2020 Ram 2500 Laramie Crew Cab 4x4 w/ Rear Air Suspension 6.4L Hemi 4.10 Axle Short Bed 5th wheel prep/tow package. Specs as follows: Towing Capacity: 16890 Payload Capacity: 2890 GVWR: 10000 GAWR-F: 5500 GAWR-R: 6390 GCWR: Not sure where to find this Also, the manual gives the following: Max 5th Wheel Trailer Weight: 25000 Max Pin Weight: 3750 ^Not sure what these numbers mean as compared to or in the context of TC/PC I am interested in pulling a Keystone Sprinter 31FWMB or comparable Mid-Bunk, specs as follows: GVWR: 12100 UVW: 9505 Dry Hitch Weight: 1715 I feel confident the 2500 has enough tow capacity, but I am concerned about the payload. PC: 2890 - Passengers: ~500 family of 4 - Cargo: ~300 - Superglide 16K Hitch: 200 Remaining PC: 1890 My questions are: 1 How much hitch weight increase should I expect when the trailer is loaded? Ive read rule of thumb is 20 of GVW 2 Does the 4.10 + Air Suspension add any margin? 3 Should I focus more on GAWR-R than PC? I have read on forums of other RVers towing heavier fifth wheels with less capable trucks with no problems. How concerned should I be? Do I need to downsize to smaller 5th Wheel?

Towing capacities sometimes can be hard to figure out and it can seem like there is conflicting info but on your 2020 Ram 2500 the towing capacity is spelled out pretty easily as it can tow up to 25,000 lbs of trailer weight with a pin weight capacity of 3,750 lbs. Pay load capacity is a different number as it's basically the weight capacity of the truck bed whereas a trailer attaches to a hitch which attaches directly to the truck frame. The weight of the trailer you mentioned would easily be safe as you'd have nearly 5,000 lbs of extra capacity.

The B and W Companion slider part # BWRVK3670 is a really great option for a slider hitch to fit your OEM rail kit as well. It's made in the USA, easy to use, and very reliable.

Is your reply true? Where do you get your data? I have a RAM 2500 Laramie towing a GD 303RLS 5th My owners manual says that the payload WITH a gooseneck is 3750 which seems to include any pin weight. The door sticker is the payload is 2060 but yet the owner manual says 3750 with gooseneck. Searching Google becomes very frustrating as there is so much conflicting information.

@KentonB Sounds like your truck bed is rated for 2,060 lbs of standard cargo weight but if its the pin weight of a gooseneck the capacity is 3,750 lb.
