Installation of 7-Way Connector to Tow 5th Wheel with 2007 Chevy Silverado
Question:
I put a brake cotroller on and was putting the 5th wheel hitch brackets on and i see that the wiring is already hooked uo to the 7 pin connector from the factory but i found the wires to the 7 pin connector tied back to th frame where the cab and the bed seperate.Do these need hooked up to make the 7 pin connector work and if so how do i hook them up?

Typically, the factory 7-way on the rear bumper will plug into a connector that is located above where the spare tire is stowed.
I have never heard of an additional connector located toward the front of the truck bed. Do the pins on the connector and its shape resemble the one on the photo I provided? The connector could be covered by a protective cap.
If so, you could use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 on the connector while the turn signals, brake and running lights are activated to ensure that the connector you have found is active. If it is, you could use part # PK19918, assuming that the 4-foot length of the harness is long enough to reach from the connector you found up through the bed side to the desired location.
Using a T-Connector like part # 50-97-410 that would plug in line with the factory 7-way would be your best bet, since you will be working off a connector that you are sure is active. You would unplug the harness from the rear of the OE 7-way, and plug the harness inline, as shown in the installation video I have linked to.
